After an initial period of uncertainty, RAAC-affected Frimley Park Hospital was confirmed by the Government to be rebuilt to accommodate the future needs of the area. While the Hospital itself is outside Farnham and Bordon, it is heavily relied upon by those living in the northernmost part of the constituency.
The new hospital is expected to cost between £1.5 billion and £2 billion, with construction slated to begin in 2028 or 2029 - later than originally anticipated.
Efforts are ongoing to push for an earlier start date in collaboration with the Frimley Integrated Care Board and NHS England. Work to select a preferred site for the new hospital is progressing, with a decision expected by spring. In the interim, vital remedial works continue to ensure patient safety in the existing building.
Gregory also raised the need for improving patient transport, including again raising the potential for a new Hospital Hoppa, which Chief Executive Lance McCarthy said he would raise with his team.
Going forward, Gregory will be holding monthly meetings with executives at NHS Frimley Health to follow these developments closely and raise any concerns brought to his attention by constituents.
